HIAF Members Uniquely Positioned to Offer Services Needed Under Current Regulations
TALLAHASSEE, FL, November 4, 2019 – With the October 29 release of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) interim U.S. domestic hemp program rules, the expansion of the industrial hemp market in Florida stands to take a major step forward through the various offerings and expertise of Hemp Industries Association of Florida (HIAF) board members.
HIAF, the leading, non-profit trade association dedicated to supporting the commercialization of hemp in our state, welcomed the USDA’s proposed rules, which is a positive first step for the industry and those seeking guidance on areas such as harvesting, sampling, testing, transportation, insurance and banking. However, the HIAF will be an effective voice for our members and the industry when promoting necessary changes to the USDA’s interim rules. While in Charlotte for the Hemp Industries Association (HIA) national conference, HIAF leadership convened with 10 other state chapters to discuss changes to the rules.
